Trick or Treat (1986)

Director:  Charles Martin Smith

Stars: Marc Price, Tony Fields, Lisa Orgolini,  Doug Savant, Gene Simmons, Ozzy Osbourne

A devil worshipping heavy metal singer, Sammi Curr, dies under mysterious circumstances.  A high school metal head, Ragman, worships the singer as a god.  Ragman is the metal head in school and is tormented by the popular kids, but he has one friend, a nerd, who is can talk to.  Ragman is distressed over the death of his idol and loses his cool in a great scene of 80’s teen angst.  Ragman is buddies with the local DJ of a metal radio station who gives him the only copy of the new Sammi Curr album.  There are backward messages on the album that only Ragman can hear.  Sammi comes back from the dead to kill and reign over the town.

I knew kids like Ragman in high school. I would have made fun of this loser.  Marc Price, Skippy from Family Ties, plays Ragman. Gene Simmons is the DJ, and Ozzy Osborne plays a preacher on a television program. The movie is watchable.  I remember when it came out and all of the metal heads were dying to see it. I rented it.

It is the old 80’s story of the whimpy metal head wanting to get revenge on the kids at school because he doesn’t like getting picked on. Hello loser, it’s high school.  Deal with it and move on. That is what high school is about.  It sucks. This is a movie to watch over and over again. It is so bad that it's good. Enjoy.
